Technology
Traditionally, guitar cables have been designed with twisted multi-stranded conductors for cost and flexibility. Among audiophiles, the quest for sound purity tends to proscribe these for audio cables for two reasons: the risk of oxidation between the strands and the instability of the signal that jumps from one strand to another. However, the best audio cable designers have long experienced variations in sound properties depending on the size of the strands making up the conductor. Their diameter has a direct impact on the distribution and circulation of frequencies and therefore on the sound character of the cable.
VOX has therefore taken advantage of these constraints to design high-flying, resistant, lossless cables that are above all adapted to their final use. Extensive research combined with countless hours of listening tests have allowed us to develop jack cables specifically designed for a particular use in order to provide you with the best possible musical experience.
OFC copper
Vox cables are not made with normal electrical grade copper but with OFC: Oxygen Free Copper. This technology guarantees 99.99% oxygen-free copper, greatly reducing the risk of oxidation and thus signal distortion. The sound of an OFC copper cable is smoother, cleaner and more dynamic than a cable with standard electrical grade copper.
Connectors
The hot spot of Vox connectors is designed as a single piece of brass that forms both the tip of the connector and the pin/contact portion. This makes it impossible for the tip to fail, which unfortunately happens with inferior designs. Vox connectors are also 24-karat gold plated to provide superior corrosion resistance over years of use.
Dielectric Material
The function of an insulator is based on its dielectric absorption of the signal, which will tend to affect the sound. Jack cable conductor insulation is usually made of PVC, which is affordable, flexible and strong, but has marginal electrical properties that can lead to signal loss. The polypropylene used in the insulation of Vox cables guarantees the transmission of a stronger and higher quality signal.
