Spiral jack cables are part of the clichés of Rock 'n Roll history! Vox brings this vintage cable back to life with a unique design, employing a multi-stranded OFC copper conductor, optimized for its performance in guitar and bass-specific frequencies. The result is a high-quality, truly musical cable with an irresistible vintage look.
- Multi-gauge conductors to deliver the best performance in all frequency ranges
- 99,99% for optimum sound quality
- Dual insulators for maximum noise suppression
- High temperature PVC jacket for maximum insulation
- Gold-plated connectors with one-piece TIP for optimal conductivity and longevity
- Polyethylene dielectric insulation for high-performance conduction and better signal quality
Technology
Traditionally, guitar cables have been designed with twisted multi-strand conductors, for cost but also for flexibility. Among audiophiles, the quest for purity of sound tends to proscribe these for audio cables for two reasons: the risks of oxidation between strands and the instability of the signal jumping from one strand to another. However, the best audio cable designers have long experienced variations in sound properties depending on the size of the strands making up the conductor. Their diameter directly impacts the frequency distribution and circulation and thus the sonic character of the cable.
VOX has therefore taken advantage of these constraints to design high-flying cables that are resistant, lossless, but above all, adapted to their final use. Extensive research combined with countless hours of listening tests have resulted in the development of purpose-built jack cables to give you the best possible music experience.
OFC Copper
Vox cables are designed not with normal electrical grade copper but with OFC: Oxygen Free Copper. This technology guarantees 99.99% oxygen-free copper, greatly reducing the risk of oxidation and thus signal distortion. The sound of an OFC copper cable is smoother, cleaner and more dynamic than a cable with standard electrical grade copper.
Connectors
The hot spot of Vox connectors is designed as a single piece of brass that forms both the tip of the connector and the pin/contact portion. This makes it impossible for the tip to fail, which unfortunately happens with inferior designs. Vox connectors are also 24-karat gold plated to provide superior corrosion resistance over years of use.
Dielectric material
The function of an insulator relies on its dielectric absorption of the signal, which will therefore tend to impact the sound output. Jack cable conductor insulation is typically made with PVC, an affordable, flexible and strong material but with marginal electrical properties that can lead to signal loss. The polypropylene used in the insulation of Vox cables ensures the transmission of a stronger, higher quality signal.
