Fundamentally, RedNet is a highly scalable audio distribution system that offers near-zero latency and can be used to expand the number of inputs and outputs of digital audio systems and/or serve as a bridge between Pro Tools|HD, MADI protocol, and the Dante audio network. Featuring Focusrite's most advanced AD/DA conversion to date, an ultra-stable JetPLL clock, and high-end multilayer PCBs, RedNet is no exception to Focusrite's philosophy: Sound is everything. The RedNet X2P advantageously complements the I/O of your Focusrite Red or RedNet interfaces or any Dante™ audio-IP system. Power, audio and remote control are possible via Ethernet ("Power over Ethernet" or PoE) link. The 2 digitally controlled (remote controllable) preamps feature a large ultra-clear gain reserve, with stereo "link" function, dedicated phantom power, high-pass filter and polarity inversion. In addition, they feature Air Mode, emulating the sound of classic Focusrite transformer preamps.

The RedNet X2P offers high-performance audio conversion with a dynamic range of over 118 dB. These converters have been specially selected and calibrated to provide the best balance of sound quality, dynamic range and conversion accuracy.

Sometimes it's useful to have direct monitoring of incoming signals. That's why the RedNet X2P has a control to mix incoming signals with network streams into the line outputs or headphone output.

The unit can be mounted directly on a mic stand so that it can be remotely located and also kept close at hand. A control lock ensures that settings remain unchanged when used remotely.
