Unlike passive AB-Y boxes that introduce unwanted noise and "split" the guitar signal in half, the Switchbone uses a noiseless optical switch and the same highly complimented Class A circuitry found in the Radial JD7 Injector with 100% discrete components (no op amp). To eliminate noise introduced by ground loops, the output of the B amp is transformer isolated, and a boost circuit is built in for the worst solos. It can be set to GAIN for an overall increase in volume, MID ONLY for a boost in the mids, or both at the same time. It can also be muted to tune your guitar silently using the tuner out output of the Switchbone.
