Have you always wanted to take up electric bass, but the long neck and big strings scare you compared to a guitar? Don't panic, the Eko JB100 format ¾ is a reduced-size electric bass with timeless jazz lines! With its shorter pitch, playability is far more accessible and ergonomic, with smaller squares and less acrobatic finger gaps. Perfect, therefore, for children or small players. What's more, with its passive electronics consisting of 2 single J-type pickups and its satin-finish 21-fret maple neck, the ¾-size JB100 bass presents a comfort and versatility of sound that will delight any bassist beginning his or her musical adventure.
Timeless jazz lines in ¾-size!
We no longer need to introduce the timeless offset silhouette that inspired the design of the Eko JB100 format 3/4: the characteristic double notch guaranteeing excellent access to the last frets, combined with two single pickups and a bridge/cordier block with 4 bridges, but here with a reduced pitch (of 761 mm) for ease of playing! This "short scale" or 3/4 format makes this an attractive electric bass, highly ergonomic and easy to play for children and smaller players. Guitarists who also want to take up the bass without suffering from acrobatic positions between cases will be delighted, while retaining a true bass sound.
Quality luthiery.
Despite its most affordable price, the luthiery of the JB100 3/4 has benefited from the utmost attention in order to offer bassists new to the instrument an attractive and very well finished bass. The body, crafted from poplar for strength, is highlighted by a high-gloss varnish. The sturdy, comfortable 4-point screwed maple neck is topped by an Eko resin WPC (Wood Polymers Composites) fingerboard bringing stability and warmth to the maple snap.
A versatile configuration.
On the electronics side, the JB100 3/4 is equipped with 2 J-type single-coil pickups with a well-known layout, much appreciated for their snap, midrange and versatility. Very much at home on warm, clear sounds, they can also be very biting and percussive when combined with powerful distortion. To extend the sonic possibilities, a volume control for each pickup and a general tone control enable you to mix the characters of the different pickups and adjust their more or less brilliant timbre. The bridge/cordial block incorporates independently adjustable bridges to fine-tune the action and harmonics of each string and ensure efficient sustain.
Affordable, versatile and aesthetically pleasing with its timeless silhouette and glossy finish, the 3/4-size JB100 is the ideal instrument for starting out on electric bass with comfort and ease, without breaking the bank.
