LÂG SL100 Solid Cedar / Mahogany / Satin
SL100, ideal for getting started
The SL100 model, particularly affordable for this category of instruments, features a solid red cedar top paired with mahogany back and sides, in a beautiful satin finish.
Dedicated semi-rigid gigbag — protection and practicality
Each SWING LÂG guitar comes with a dedicated gigbag, specially designed for the Gypsy shape. Generously padded and featuring a semi-rigid structure, it ensures excellent shock protection while remaining lightweight and easy to carry. Designed for everyday use as well as travel, it combines safety, comfort, and convenience, so your instrument can go everywhere with complete peace of mind.
LÂG pays tribute to the French Gypsy jazz tradition with the SWING LÂG series
Born in the 1930s with Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, Gypsy jazz forged a new musical identity. At the same time in Paris, Italian luthier Mario Maccaferri created an iconic guitar that would define the sound and silhouette of this unique genre.
The SWING LÂG series honors this legacy by blending historical inspiration, acclaimed craftsmanship, refined design, and a keen sense of harmony.
“Petite bouche” tradition and modern reliability
Staying true to the historical construction of Gypsy jazz guitars, SWING LÂG models adopt the traditional “petite bouche” form. Appreciated for its focused projection and defined articulation in solo playing, it also excels at la pompe, offering quick response and excellent rhythmic clarity.
These instruments are built on the core elements that shape the genre’s authentic sound: a wooden bridge, a metal tailpiece for optimal vibration transfer and a characteristic attack, as well as Argentine strings, renowned for their clarity, tension, and responsiveness.
While the slotted headstock and metal-post tuners respect the original aesthetic and spirit, they incorporate sealed, oil-bath gears for precise, stable tuning. The setup is completed by a dual-action truss rod, ensuring fine neck adjustment and long-term reliability.
The result: instruments that combine sonic authenticity with modern demands, able to cut through the mix while preserving the dynamic richness unique to Gypsy jazz.
