It is the Piezo Booster, designed and patented by the Master luthier Roberto Fontanot. What is it used for? Here are the words of Maitre Fontanot who explain everything to us: "Concerning electro-acoustic guitars, the piezoelectric sensors use the pressure to provide a signal, and without pressure, the sensors do not work while with a too strong pressure, the sensors saturate and cut. Due to the effect of the incidence and pressure of the strings in relation to the bridge (especially after the strings have been changed), the saddle always tends to lean and therefore to be positioned at an incorrect angle in relation to the piezo sensor: this implies an imbalance of volume between the strings because the bridge saddle itself does not rest uniformly on the sensor. The Piezo Booster mechanically brings the bridge back to a vertical and orthogonal position and thus distributes the pressure correctly on the sensor. The result will be to have the volume rebalanced between the different strings, and a gain of a few dB on the general volume."
To use the Piezo Booster correctly, just place it on the bridge (as on the pictures) and hit it 2/3 times with a good power and the bridge will immediately be perfectly realigned. That's it, your piezo sensor is now optimally tuned once again to perfectly transcribe all the nuances of your electro-acoustic guitar playing!
