For this series, ideal for starting out in style or evolving without suffering from mediocre quality, the designers of the Japanese brand have favoured the included accessories and above all the maximum number of options and know-how usually reserved for the top of the range, while considering the buyer's wallet very closely. The use of maple as the only wood species, the design of the thin cross-laminated drums, the lacquered or varnished finishes (seven colours including a superb blue for this "Ultramarine Velvet"!) or the matching snare drum, are indeed as many criteria that we find in Masters or Masterworks series, spearheads of the brand.
Improachable accessories.
Ask any seasoned drummer to name a very good accessories manufacturer. Pearl is bound to be on the podium! In this configuration, two cymbal stands, a snare stand, a hi-hat pedal and especially a Demonator bass drum pedal make all the difference. Observers will be able to make the same observation for the hardware, with of course differences compared to the top of the basket, but it is certain that, in this range, Pearl remains a true reference in terms of quality and solidity.
A great sound at the rendezvous.
With the Decade, we enter the category where a drummer can really start to make the drums sound as a whole, in terms of hit nuances, tuning possibilities and homogeneity between the snare, the bass drum and the toms... Over time, by changing the heads, you can even expand the range of possibilities. That said, with the Remo Clear UT supplied - especially for the 22 x 18 inch bass drum with a Powerstroke 3 and a pierced resonance skin - and the sanded skin for the snare drum, there is already something to enjoy. And well beyond a decade!
