Description
First of all, the cabinet’s keyhole-shaped design not only delivers an original, stylish look, but also boosts the speaker’s performance by ensuring that no mounting screw heads interfere with the sound from the drivers. There is also a rear port, specially designed to enhance the presence and clarity of the subs. Finally, magnetic shielding has been included to eliminate any interference with a display or other electronic devices.
Powerful yet sophisticated bi-amplification.
The BX5-D3’s amplification system is built around a 5" 60-watt woofer made of Kevlar. This stiff, lightweight material tightens low frequencies and adds more punch to the mids. It also provides excellent transient response, eliminating cone breakup. There’s also a 1" high-frequency driver with a natural silk dome, rated at 40 watts, specifically engineered to suppress the unwanted resonances often heard in traditional models. With such features, the speaker offers a wide frequency response from 52 Hz to 35 kHz, as well as a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 105 dB.

Since every workspace is different, M-Audio equipped its monitors with a room-size adaptation setting called “Acoustic Space.” With a simple selector, you can fine-tune the speakers’ sound based on how close you’re forced to place them—super practical! In addition, the BX5D3 features an indicator that helps you position the speaker ideally relative to the listener and instantly find the “sweet spot,” that magic point where the speaker delivers maximum performance. Just move the cabinets until the indicator appears as bright as possible, and you’re done! Finally, the BX5-D3’s connectivity is universal, offering an XLR input alongside a 6.35 mm TRS jack input, so it fits into any setup. Life just got a whole lot easier.
