Description
The RedNet family of interfaces has been designed to meet the needs of a wide range of audio applications-from live sound to multi-cabin recording studios, houses of worship, distributed audio installations, post-production environments, and everything in between. Fundamentally, RedNet is a highly scalable audio distribution system that offers near-zero latency and can be used to expand the number of inputs and outputs of digital audio systems and/or serve as a bridge between Pro Tools|HD, MADI protocol, and the Dante audio network. Featuring Focusrite's most advanced AD/DA conversion to date, an ultra-stable JetPLL clock, and high-end multilayer PCBs, RedNet is no exception to Focusrite's philosophy: Sound is everything. One of the big strengths of the RedNet A16R Mk2 is the redundancy of the power supply and network ports (on etherCON connectors). Especially since you can configure these ports remotely in Redundant or Switched mode (for chaining). A major asset for live applications where reliability is critical.

RedNet Control software simplifies the flow, control, and configuration of interfaces in the network. Many RedNet device parameters can be adjusted, including preamp gain, reference level, clock source, sample rate, etc.. Wherever there is an Ethernet connection, it becomes easy to have control over the network.
**Dante, practical-practical.**
The RedNet range takes advantage of the Dante protocol to connect to an audio network. Dante (Digital Audio Networking over Ethernet) transmits uncompressed multi-channel digital audio with incredibly low latency. This powerful yet simple protocol has become the standard for audio over IP. No more "bags of noodles" and tedious tangles, all streams pass through a single "Cat 5e" or "Cat 6" cable. All connections and routings are managed through a simple software interface.
**Mk2 = individual adjustable channels.**
The Mk2 version of the A16R features individual input and output channel level controls, allowing precise calibration and control of all input and output levels using RedNet Control.
