A unique saxophone thought and designed for little musicians!
The Alphasax is made from a traditional alto saxophone body and a totally redesigned mechanism. Some of the more difficult-to-reach keys have been redesigned or simply removed, the scale has been readjusted and the plates repositioned to guarantee playing comfort and accuracy. It retains the Eb key of an alto saxophone, and its chromatic range runs from low C to high D.
The Alphasax weighs just 1.86kg (3.34kg in its original case), over 30% less than a traditional alto saxophone, so there's no need to wait until you're old enough to learn to play the alto saxophone!
Technical specifications:
- The treble D key has been readjusted for greater playing comfort
- The treble Eb, E and F keys and the treble F# key have been removed
- The keys and the two low B and B flat plates have been removed
- The keys for G#, Eb, C and low C# have been redesigned and are now easier to reach
- The Bb key and its side fingering have been retained
- Supplied in a black backpack case with mouthpiece, ligature and beak cover
