Description

Choose an unknown brand or a reputable label? And, with identical features, why this one rather than that one? What criteria should you consider when making up your mind? Does aesthetics matter? In short: how can you be sure you’re not making a mistake?

Wanting to want.

With the Lâg T70 series models, you get a wide choice of body formats (dreadnought or auditorium), finishes (sunburst or natural), and an electro-acoustic option. These guitars are designed for beginners who, by definition, will find it hard to push them to their limits due to limited instrumental technique. They will therefore rely on subjective elements, such as comfortable feel in the hand or an aesthetic that makes them want to pick up the instrument more often—and thus progress more quickly. In this respect, they’ll be perfectly served!

Chic—and above all, striking.

And that’s exactly the case with these T70s: satin finish, an original rosette, black graphite nut and saddle, and matte-black tuners (sealed, oil-lubricated, no less). That’s for aesthetics. But two criteria remain important. First, ease of play, because while an experienced guitarist can adapt their playing to the instrument or even set it up to perfection, a beginner may struggle. The guitar is a very physical instrument, and it’s important that the left hand can play smoothly. And that’s the case with these T70s, whose slim, comfortable neck offers a perfectly adjusted action (distance between the strings and the neck) that will spare the novice player the ordeal of those first aches and pains.

A balanced sound with impressive projection.

Finally, the guitar’s sound matters and, in this case, the T70s deliver a balanced tone between bass and treble, thanks of course to the solid Engelmann spruce soundboard. Naturally, dreadnoughts project more volume than auditoriums, which are subtler and better suited to fingerstyle playing—not to mention that their smaller size will particularly suit more compact players. In any case, if you opt for an electro-acoustic version with its DirectLâg GT2 preamp, you’ll access all these guitars’ sonic qualities at any volume, without risking unwanted feedback thanks to its many fine-tuning options. In the end, guitars that make an impact with their refined look and offer excellent value for money. And if you look at the competition, you’ll find there are hardly any challengers.
