The new ECOCORD cable range from CORDIAL adopts an alternative to PVC, known as TPE-V.

Description
This material is recyclable, energy-efficient and poses no recycling problems. What's more, it's lighter than PVC and offers similar advantages in terms of flexibility and notch resistance.
As the first product series in the ECOCORD range, CORDIAL presents ECOHEMP instrument cables. These textile-sheathed cables feature a braid made from 100% recyclable, sustainable hemp fibers, in a matte green/brown hue. What's more, this textile sheath material is GOTS-certified, i.e. the fabrics are made from organically produced natural fibers and the production process complies with extensive social and ecological standards.
For musicians and technicians, the decisive factor is, among other things, the long-term resistance of this type of innovative product (pressure, temperature, UV rays, wear/abrasion, dirt/liquids). The independent inspection body DTNW Öffentliche Prüfstelle GmbH was commissioned by CORDIAL to simulate over two years' ageing of the ECOHEMP envelope material under laboratory conditions. The experts tested the material concerned in various test scenarios and, in conclusion, issued the intended certificate concerning the resilience of the hemp fabric cladding.
To compensate for the copper and similar materials used for the plugs, we have entered into a cooperation with the world-renowned non-profit organization "Trees For The Future (TREES)", under which one tree will be planted in sub-Saharan Africa for every ECOHEMP cable sold.
The labels on ECOHEMP products are made from recycled gray cardboard (FSC® Mix), which sets these cables apart from other CORDIAL packaging. The complete production of all ECOCORD/ECOHEMP products boasts "Made in Europe" to keep supply lines as short as possible and thus minimize the CO² footprint.
ECOHEMP cables are available in the usual 3 and 6 meter versions. The cable interior meets the highest technical standards. The double shielding of copper braid and conductive plastic minimizes so-called "microphonic" effects, and the 0.50 mm² conductor cross-section ensures particularly clear signal transmission. All in all, our ECOHEMP series represents an innovative synthesis that symbolizes the signs of our times.
**Environmental focus**
With its new
ECOHEMP range, Cordial is working in favor of the environment by renouncing
the use of PVC! The alternative is called TPE-V. It is an
alloy of soft/elastic and harder components, which
provides a cable that is just as flexible.

**Each cable plants a tree!**
ECOHEMP
is a major innovation in the music sector in terms of
sustainability and environmental protection. With ECOHEMP
musicians can now actively contribute to improving
harsh environmental and living conditions in regions of the
world particularly affected by natural disasters and
mismanagement. For every ECOHEMP product sold, a tree will be
planted.
To achieve this, Cordial is collaborating with the
world-renowned non-profit organization Trees for the Future (TREES).
Based on concepts that have been tried and tested for decades, the company
successfully carries out reforestation projects in
extremely damaged and blighted areas and aims to reduce poverty for the
people living there.
In 2015, the company exceeded the target of 100 million trees planted (worldwide).
By
2030, the goal is to plant 1 billion trees (worldwide
entirely). The reforestation projects are taking place in
Subsaharan Africa.
**The guarantee of high-level sound**
Naturally, ECOHEMP cable meets all the criteria for a high-quality Cordial product:

The 0.50 mm² conductor cross-section (AWG 21 / conductor resistance
< 39 Ω/km) is twice as large as that of conventional
cloth-sheathed cables. It guarantees distortion-free
signal transport and crystal-clear sound.

composed of braid and a carbon semiconductor minimizes
external interference (such as microphonic effects).
**Plugs with a "Shabby Chic "** design
silent plug of the ECOHEMP PP-SILENT are both made by
NEUTRIK®. Their special retro styling recalls the charm of patina on
metallic parts. The NEUTRIK® silentPLUG® plug effectively prevents
any annoying sizzle when plugging and unplugging an
instrument.
