ZILDJIAN K2816 Crash - 16" Paper Thin
Expressive, deep, dark.
Pure raw sound, a palette of complex tones, the historic sound: three phrases to describe this lighter K Zildjian series. None other than Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, and Art Blakey embraced Kerope Zildjian’s work on the development of this series. Its reputation is already well established, but Zildjian continues to listen to drummers.
A versatile cymbal.
As durable as they are light, K Paper Thin cymbals deliver a 'dark' explosiveness, with a fast decay and a soft feel under the stick. One of the main features of this new series is a reimagined three-step hammering process. It brings flexibility and unique nuances that contribute to these cymbals’ sonic signature. The very thin profile also provides extra shimmer when struck, offering low-end resonance not found anywhere else in the K family.
A tribute to 400 years of the brand’s existence.
The K Paper Thin Crash series is a tribute to Zildjian’s 400-year history. As always, this line follows the brand’s credo of staying at the cutting edge of innovation, and offering cymbals that meet and exceed drummers’ demands.
An iconic series.
Zildjian began offering Paper Thin cymbals as early as the 1950s. After studying drummers’ needs over the past 70 years, the conclusion is clear: they are looking for lightweight cymbals! Thanks to new advances from the Zildjian R&D team, this line of cymbals ranging from 18 to 22 inches joins the iconic K family. It combines the qualities of a Paper Thin with the characteristics of large-diameter cymbals. New this year, a 16-inch model makes its entrance into the series.
