The 'plus' lies in the dedicated tuner output and its pedal format featuring a footswitch that mutes the signal going to the main output and amp, while leaving the 'tuner' output active. The innovative circuit design combines a low-noise Class A/FET input stage that delivers exceptional sound at all frequencies, and a -15dB pad that can be used to handle instruments with high output levels, such as active bases or certain keyboards. The high-pass filter gently erases excessive bass and resonance in the lower end of the spectrum. A 180° polarity-reversal switch helps circumscribe phase problems on stage, or align the amp with the PA system. A pair of LEDs lets you see when the StageDirect is 'switched' or operational. Switching is done, of course, using the footswitch, but can also be done remotely by connecting a momentary switch (without locking) via jack connector. This enables a technician to switch off the instrument, replace a guitar and manage the backstage return to reactivate the artist's guitar signal. Power-up can be via the mixing console's standard 48V or the included 15VDC power supply.Equally effective for acoustic guitar and bass, the StageDirect provides a not inconsiderable plus to enable the artist to change instruments without causing switching noise in the PA system.
