Description
Randy channeled his raw energy to push his already overdriven amp,
unleashing a cascade of harmonics, forging a sonic signature that
would leave an indelible mark on music history.
We celebrate his monumental legacy with this reissue
of his very own MXR Distortion+. For the first time in 42 years, the Rhoads
family unveiled Randy’s pedalboard to the MXR team at the family’s Los Angeles
music school, the Musonia School of Music. There, a historic moment took place:
MXR engineers carefully opened the pedalboard, closely inspecting and documenting every detail of this rock 'n' roll relic.
They meticulously recreated the specifications of Randy’s vintage Distortion+, with the direct involvement of his sister Kathy Rhoads, to create this signature model capable of delivering the same saturated tones heard on his most iconic tracks.
Inspired by a supersonic aircraft he flew on during
a tour with Ozzy Osbourne, Randy designed a white Flying V guitar
with binding. This iconic instrument inspired the design of
this special edition MXR Randy Rhoads Distortion+, which comes with an
exclusive collector’s booklet.
