Pearl’s artisanal manufacturing process is the result of a long tradition. From student models to professional examples, each instrument is designed to accompany every stage of a flutist’s career. To ensure lasting quality, the Japanese firm launched a unique apprenticeship program at its Chiba factory in Japan, enabling seasoned craftsmen to share their expertise with new generations of workers.

**One-Piece Core-Bar, a mechanical innovation.**
The One-Piece Core-Bar system, featured on all of the brand’s flutes, eliminates the recurring problems of models from other manufacturers that do without it. Pearl designed a rod that runs through the key axles from high C to F-sharp, enhancing mechanical reliability, improving comfort, delivering superior durability, and reducing maintenance.

**Pinless Construction, the pinless system.**
All Pearl flutes are built using the Japanese brand’s patented Pinless process. Combined with the mechanism, this system eliminates one of the issues encountered by traditional makers: the small pins that catch on clothing and allow perspiration and skin acidity to seep in. This can harm the instrument by causing corrosion and stiff keys. This drawback has been eliminated thanks to the insertion of pin screws beneath the mechanism, removing the need for traditional pins. A simple solution to a recurring problem. Someone just had to think of it…
