Description

The Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro Staggered series pickups for Stratocaster are based on hand-ground Alnico 2 magnets with a stepped profile to follow your guitar's radius, along with Heavy Formvar magnet wire and special winding to produce that dynamic, expressive tone typical of the best Strat pickups of the '50s. The high-frequency attack is smooth and silky, the mids are very slightly hollowed out and the lows quite mellow.

The calibrated set includes an upside-down wound center pickup with reversed polarity (RW/RP) to eliminate unwanted noise in positions 2 and 4 on the selector. As with their sound, Seymour Duncan reproduces fifties pickups with the utmost precision. This includes the material, color and shape of the plate, the stepped studs, the waxed and tinned cloth wires... the coils are finished by hand then assembled and lacquered as in Fender's golden age, to be then bathed in wax, thus avoiding any feedback.
