The Antiquity series pays homage to the instruments of the '50s, and the Antiquity II series corresponds to the '60s.

A true time traveler, the Humbuckers Antiquity Retrospec'd give your Les Paul the priceless sound of 1955 P.A.Fs that would have been played for decades, while becoming loaded with history.This Retrospec'd version of the Humbuckers Antiquity features the same characteristics and magnetic aging of the pickup magnets as the Antiquity, but with a brand-new, non-relicensed visual appearance.

The Humbuckers Antiquity Retrospec'd are identical reproductions of Seth E.Lover's P.A.Fs by Custom Shop Seymour Duncan, with period specifications, vintage Leesona winding machine, and carefully selected materials. Magnets and coils are artificially aged and relined to deliver the sound of pickups that would have decades of playing under their belts.

The Humbucker Antiquity Retrospec'd in neck position delivers a rather mellow sound, while remaining very full and articulate. This is the result of a perfectly balanced frequency response, combining a low-aggressive attack with warm bass. The specially aged Alnico 2 magnet provides clarity and articulation to the chords, while the vintage coils enhance the harmonic richness of the whole. With just the right amount of treble and character, every note comes out magnified, and the guitar becomes lilting as ever.


Each Humbucker Antiquity Retrospec'd is made by Custom Shop Seymour Duncan and aged, both aesthetically and magnetically, to simulate the wear and tear experienced by a pickup after decades of use. The mold used for the butyrate coils was created by the same factory that made the original P.A.F. mold for Gibson. Other key features include Seymour Duncan's 42 AWG raw enamel magnet cable, a nickel silver cap, a 6.35 mm (2.5") Alnico 2 magnet, a custom-machined metal spacer, a custom-machined maple spacer, a pressure-return single-conductor braided cable and a nickel silver bottom plate with long mounting lugs. True to Gibson's original P.A.Fs., these humbuckers aren't coated with wax, allowing you to achieve an unmistakable vintage sound.
