Limitations on volume in concert halls are driving guitarists to use higher and higher preamp gains with lower master levels, forgetting the benefits of distortion and natural compression from the amplifier stage. With the new Laney GHR series, located halfway between the Lionheart (classic British) and Ironheart (hi-gain oriented) amps, regain control over this amp stage and mix the amount of preamp distortion with the amount of tube distortion as you see fit! When using channel 2, don't think of the OUTPUT control as a general volume but as a way to push the amp section more or less. Then adjust the output level with the VOLUME control!
