Normally, this kind of modification requires open-heart surgery on your guitar armed with a good soldering iron and patience. Not to mention adding switches or push-pulls galore. With his new HYPERSWITCH, Seymour Duncan says you can consign those headaches to the past!
The HYPERSWTCH is a 5-position strat-style switch that lets you change your wiring and its options in an instant, with zero effort, by connecting to your phone's Bluetooth. With the HYPERSWITCH you can design, save and recall multiple wiring configurations through a dedicated, easy-to-use app.
The HYPERSWITCH is compatible with most passive microphones and requires power from a single 9V battery. Whether you're trying to make your Les Paul sound like a Strat, testing out out-of-phase sounds a la Brian May, or just adding new tones to your palette, the Seymour Duncan Hyperswitch opens up your sonic possibilities without requiring extensive electronics skills.
Compatible with most passive pickups, the HYPERSWITCH gives you different possibilities depending on the type of pickup (single, humbucker, humbucker format single, stacked, P-Rail....), all with great simplicity thanks to a solderless connection system.
Here are the options available to you for each pickup if it is a Single Coil or a Humbucker:
Single coil:
- Standard: standard direction of the signal
- Reverse: Reverse coil
- Off: the mic can simply be turned off
Humbucker:
- Standard Full: coils in series with standard current direction.
- Standard South Coil: Split to leave only the South coil active, standard polarity. For most humbuckers, the South coil is the one with the screws. It is usually the one closest to the neck on a neck position pickup and the one closest to the bridge on a bridge position pickup.
- Reverse South Coil: Also split with reverse polarity.
- Reverse Full: Coils in reverse polarity series.
- Standard North Coil: Split to leave only the North coil active. Standard polarity.
- Reverse North Coil: Also split but polarity reversed.
- RP: Coils out of phase in parallel, hot spot at beginning of coil
- PRP: Coils out of phase in parallel but reversed, hot spot at end of coil
- Off: Any coil can be off, one or both.
