Available as a tie or headband microphone, the DuraPlex has been extensively tested to guarantee IP57 protection against dust and water*. Whether it's a reality TV shoot, a professional theater tour or wherever sound takes you, the elements won't be an obstacle. Equally at home on a beach or in a broadcast studio, the DuraPlex boasts neutral, rich, quality sound that meets the highest standards.


Shure's 1.6 mm Plex cable, first introduced with the award-winning TwinPlex miniature microphone, lasts longer than competing cables thanks to a redundant double ground that serves as a secondary shield. It also has virtually no "shape memory effect", doesn't twist and can be fully painted.


*The IP Code, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), assesses the degree of protection against dust (first digit) and water (second digit). An IP57 protection rating qualifies the DuraPlex as follows:


  • 5 (dust) - dust is not entirely prevented from penetrating, but it does not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the proper operation of the equipment.
  • 7 (water) - the penetration of water in harmful quantities will not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water up to 1 m deep for 30 minutes.
