ESP 2EC2-VBK Eclipse EC-II - Satin Black
Eclipse EC-II - Satin Black
It's always a bit silly to say, but the big-sounding guitarist doesn't necessarily want a guitar with abracadabratic shapes. Yes, yes, hard and sober are not incompatible! As proof, this ESP hides, under a classic appearance, a big heart. Because what do you expect from a guitar like this? Huge peachiness, devilish sound definition, output gain to blow the membranes off its Mesa-Boogie, ease of play that allows you to tumble all the squares on the neck and, finally, a tuning that never moves.
The dragon's share.
Qualities that perfectly define the E-IIs in general and this C2 in particular thanks to its formidably effective active EMGs, its infinite sustain both at low volume and when locking the pot in the red zone. But ESP is also the know-how of a luthier who has been making guitars since 1975, gaining little by little the trust of the greatest guitarists. A Japanese brand, of course, but one that has carved out its share of the dragon in the country where the electric guitar is king, the United States.
Exceptional lutherie.
Mahogany body lined with a carved maple top, glued neck and rosewood fingerboard, the E-IIC2 benefits from noble woods that highlight impeccable lutherie linked to high-performance electronics and fittings signed by the greatest signatures in the genre: Gotoh Tune-O-Matic bridge and Sperzel self-locking oil bath tuners.
Top of the line.
Although the Eclipse's shape is not unlike that of the Les Paul, it is not a copy, far from it. For proof, if any were needed, its singular indentation that allows easy access to all the fretboard spaces, and its much thinner neck profile. And above all, it weighs much less than what is usually found on this kind of guitar. Top of the range, obviously, which is confirmed by the finishes.
