With its brand new COSMO system, HK Audio offers rental companies a modular solution that is easily configurable and optimized for multiple uses. The system consists of three loudspeakers (C6, C8 and C10) assigned to broadcast the low midrange to the high frequencies, with directivities of 100°, 80° and 60° respectively. Three new subwoofers (CF 118, CS 118, CS 218) are used for the lower frequencies, allowing cardioid operation. The special feature of the system is the interoperability of its components, ensuring great flexibility for the user. This ensemble is supported by a muscular amplification by Lab Gruppen, installed in pre-wired racks by HK Audio, with the formidable assembly quality that can be expected from a German manufacturer.
The development of the COSMO has been the subject of special care in the waveguide, named "Multicell Transformer".
Patented by HK, the technology behind this key element shows promise for achieving a high pressure level in the upper spectrum. Another notable feature is that when broadcasting sound to an audience area that is both wide and very deep, the C6, C8 and C10 can work in concert to even out dispersion.
Besides harmonizing acoustically, the COSMO components were also designed to assemble efficiently in a minimum of time. And because they have common templates, interconnection and transportation are conveniently done without expending much effort.
