Description

A few years ago, Aquila unveiled a new bio-plastic derived from sugarcane, its use for ukulele and guitar strings through the new Sugar series presages excellent sustain and a bright, lively sound character. This same material is used for the monofilament core of the new Flat Spirals strings.

The Sugar monofilament core is flat-spun with a wire designed in a copper-based alloy, softer but also denser than steel or nickel. This recipe ensures that Aquila Flat Spirals strings sound brighter and more powerful than traditional flatwounds, with excellent sustain.
