Description
A second mode is directly inspired by the iconic character of the JB/Jazz humbucker pair, followed by a third Single Coil mode capable of the purest, cleanest cleans. The latter still offers high output and definition, making it work beautifully with modern gear and productions.
The 7-string MortalCoil features an active Soapbar-style mounting system, setting it apart from the 6-string version.
At the heart of the MortalCoil is a feat of precision enabling exceptional winding density combined with perfectly optimized resistance. This yields faster, stronger transient response, translating into tighter, more precise pick attack, regardless of tuning.
Also central to the MortalCoil’s development, the all-new, purpose-built Seymour Duncan preamp uses cutting-edge op-amps that contribute to the pickup’s harmonic richness and detail, as well as the sense of dynamics it provides when played with relatively low gain.
The circuitry is optimized for minimal power consumption, extending battery life.

The MortalCoil installs easily and integrates seamlessly with most existing active setups. It comes with all required potentiometers and wiring.
