Description
They deliver high-resolution 96 kHz audio across 48 inputs and 36 outputs while offering ultra-low latency under 0.7 ms, making it a perfect console for broadcast or AV applications.
The 12 stereo mixes (configurable as groups or auxiliaries) make SQ the perfect companion for personal monitoring setups, while the Automatic Microphone Mixer (AMM) takes over in multi-microphone environments.
Equipped with an I/O port that can host DANTE or WAVES cards and interoperable with dLive systems, SQ inherits dLive’s renowned DEEP plugins, the RackExtra effects library, and 8 stereo effects engines with dedicated returns.

XCVI 96 kHz Processor
SQ is a next-generation series of consoles driven by Allen & Heath’s 96 kHz “XCVI” FPGA processor. This processor delivers high-resolution audio with unmatched precision and ultra-low noise, with latency under 0.7 ms. Capable of handling an impressive number of channels and mixes, with DEEP effects and plugins, SQ ensures top-tier mix coherence.
Expandable up to 48 mic inputs
SQ includes all the inputs/outputs needed for standalone operation. Thanks to its intelligent SLink port, SQ can also be expanded to a total of 48 mic inputs via the family of 48 kHz (AR2412, AR84 & AB168) and 96 kHz (DX168) digital stageboxes and expanders, providing a flexible, combinable solution for users of other Allen & Heath digital systems. It is also possible to connect an SQ directly to another SQ, or even to a dLive system.
DEEP Plugins Ready
The DEEP plugin processing architecture lets users precisely choose boutique compressors and preamp emulations to suit their style and needs. DEEP plugins can be embedded directly into the console’s input and mix channels without adding latency or setup complications.
An unparalleled mixing experience
With each new design, the Allen & Heath teams strive to get closer to the ultimate mixing experience. The SQ dashboard centers around a high-resolution 7" capacitive touchscreen, framed by a set of high-grip, backlit rotaries to create an intuitive, integrated blend of visual feedback and hands-on control. Input channels and mixes can be dragged and dropped to any strip, with customizable names and colors, allowing you to build a mixing environment that perfectly reflects your workflow.
Each strip features a chromatic meter for at-a-glance level indication, thanks to LEDs with variable brightness and color. SQ also provides user keys (8 on SQ-5 / 16 plus 4 rotaries with dedicated LCDs on SQ-6) that can be assigned to key functions within easy reach, as well as a “Channel to All” Mix button for instant access to all sends from a selected channel.

Dante, Waves and more
SQ is the centerpiece of a continually growing ecosystem of apps, expanders, audio cards, and personal mixers, enabling you to connect, adapt, and extend the system’s capabilities to your needs. SQ consoles are compatible with standard digital audio formats: simply add a dedicated Dante or Waves audio card to the SQ’s I/O port to integrate directly with existing systems, provide a digital split between front of house and monitors, and much more.
Flexible multitrack recording
The built-in SQ-Drive system lets you easily capture stereo or multitrack recordings of a show directly to a USB key or external hard drive. No software required, no audio driver issues, and no computer to bring to the gig. SQ-Drive is also a smart way to manage background music.
SQ is also a 32x32 96 kHz audio interface for multitrack recording, playback, and virtual soundcheck applications. The interface is ASIO and Core Audio compatible and includes comprehensive DAW and MIDI control capabilities.
Advanced Automatic Microphone Mixer (AMM)
The advanced Automatic Microphone Mixer features on SQ make these consoles a natural choice for conferences, panel discussions, or TV studios. The AMM is fully integrated into the console and adds zero latency, since the signal is not processed by an external DSP or plugin.
RackExtra effects
Allen & Heath has a long-standing reputation for crafting effect emulations that rival the best plugins, without their associated hassles. SQ consoles are equipped with 8 stereo effects engines and include the famed RackExtra library of emulations featuring legendary reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, and modulations. All effects provide dedicated stereo returns, saving input channels.
With a 48-channel, 96 kHz XCVI core for ultra-low latency and phase-coherent mixing, along with outstanding connectivity options, the SQ range remains the benchmark and go-to solution for independent rental providers, mid-sized venues, small tours, and anywhere audio quality and interoperability are essential.
SQ6+ builds on SQ-6 with increased processing power, expanded control, a larger 9-inch touchscreen featuring a redesigned GUI, and a refined “carbon on graphite” surface design update.
All SQ+ models also incorporate 4 RackUltra FX engines with dedicated send and return channels.
