Description
The new Scarlett OctoPre, a replacement for the current OctoPre MkII, is designed to easily add new channels to Scarlett interfaces or other devices with Adat I/O, including consoles and other recorders.
The Scarlett OctoPre offers 8 channels featuring 2nd generation Scarlett mic preamps, with the clarity of Focusrite conversion, up to 192 kHz. 8 balanced line outputs (direct preamp) are also present. The OctoPre's line outputs can route the signal directly from the mic preamps.
The 2nd generation Scarlett preamps, 2 of which are present on the front panel (including instrument volume controls), are designed to support instruments with high output levels. The Scarlett OctoPre is perfect for drummers who want to record themselves, but also for recording engineers who want to record entire musical ensembles. The OctoPre can be used as an active DI box, but it also allows the analog outputs to be routed directly into the console while the recording signals are being processed digitally. The OctoPre fits perfectly into a fixed installation thanks to the ability to leave the connections permanently.
