Description

Its cutting-edge hybrid design combines the sonic benefits of cone and soft-dome drivers in an innovative one-piece unit. Frequencies above 3 kHz are handled by an equally innovative combination: the S-ART tweeter (handmade at ADAM Audio’s Berlin factory), the new precision HPS waveguide, and a 50 W Class A/B amplifier. The result: a three-dimensional soundstage with exceptional transparency and an extended sweet spot.

The custom-developed DSP for the S Series optimizes the crossover filters to ensure a linear response across the entire frequency range. It also offers user EQ, room adaptation, and voicing options. A unique feature of the S3H is the built-in factory preset that emulates the response of ADAM Audio’s famed S3A monitor. The DSP also handles tweeter protection via a limiter, digital signal processing via the AES3 inputs, and will allow various extensions in the future. Software updates are easily performed via the USB port, which also lets you connect a computer and control DSP functions through a software interface.

With its powerful amplification and three-way design optimized for horizontal use, the S3H was conceived as a midfield monitor, yet it also adapts very well to more compact listening environments. True to ADAM Audio’s DNA, the sound remains punchy yet musical, with crystalline reproduction of the midrange frequencies that are so crucial for an accurate mix.

The S3H’s wide frequency response, instantaneous power reserves, and lack of need for additional subwoofers make it an ideal self-contained active solution for audio professionals seeking a complete system for their studio.
