A graduate in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma, Robert KEELEY founded his company at his home in Oklahoma City in 2001. Initially thinking of starting to manufacture guitar amps, he quickly realized that this market was saturated and would be even more so in the future. So, while teaching at a small technical college and employing some of his best students, he decides to rebuild and modify old effects units, starting with a Ross compressor. At this time, the industry had relatively few major players in the hand-made effects pedals and its activity took off quickly, helped by a reputation for high quality and prestigious clients such as Brad Paisley. Modified versions of the Ibanez TS9 will be used by Peter Frampton, Jon Heringtone (Steely Dan) and Ike Willis. Robert KEELEY has since developed his own effects pedals, while considering that part of his success is due to the careful selection of electronic components with low tolerance.
