Description
They deliver high-resolution 96 kHz audio across 48 inputs and 36 outputs while offering ultra-low latency under 0.7 ms, making it a perfect console for broadcast or AV applications.
The 12 stereo mixes—configurable as groups or auxiliaries—make SQ the perfect companion for personal monitoring setups, while the Automatic Microphone Mixer (AMM) takes over in multi-mic environments.
Equipped with an I/O port that can host Dante or Waves cards and interoperable with dLive systems, SQ inherits dLive’s renowned DEEP plug-ins, the RackExtra effects library, and eight stereo FX engines with dedicated returns.

XCVI 96 kHz processor
SQ is a next-generation series of consoles driven by Allen & Heath’s 96 kHz “XCVI” FPGA engine. This processor delivers high-resolution audio with unparalleled precision and an ultra-low noise floor, at latency under 0.7 ms. Capable of handling an impressive number of channels and mixes, with DEEP effects and plug-ins, SQ ensures top-tier mix consistency.
Expandable up to 48 mic inputs
SQ packs all the I/O needed for standalone operation. Thanks to its intelligent SLink port, SQ can also be expanded up to a total of 48 mic inputs via the family of 48 kHz (AR2412, AR84 & AB168) and 96 kHz (DX168) digital stage boxes and expanders, offering a flexible, combinable solution for users of other Allen & Heath digital systems. You can also connect one SQ directly to another SQ, or even to a dLive system.
DEEP plug-ins ready
The DEEP processing architecture lets users precisely select boutique compressors and preamp emulations to match their style and needs. DEEP plug-ins can be inserted directly on input and mix channels with no added latency or setup issues.
An unmatched mixing experience
The SQ dashboard centers around a 7" high-resolution capacitive touchscreen, flanked by a set of illuminated, high-grip rotary encoders to create an intuitive blend of visual feedback and hands-on control. Input and mix channels can be drag-and-dropped onto any strip, with customizable names and colors, letting you build a mixing environment that perfectly reflects your workflow.
Each strip features a color-coded level meter for at-a-glance metering, thanks to variable-brightness, multi-color LEDs. SQ also offers user keys (8 for SQ-5 / 16 plus 4 rotary encoders with dedicated LCDs for SQ-6) that can be assigned to key functions at your fingertips, as well as a Mix “Channel to all” button for instant access to all sends of the selected channel.

With no fewer than 12 stereo mixes, ultra-low latency, and both parametric and graphic EQ on every mix, SQ is the perfect companion for personal monitor setups. Highly compact, SQ consoles are easy to transport—even by air—and extremely robust.
Dante, Waves cards and more
SQ sits at the heart of a continually expanding ecosystem of apps, expanders, audio cards, and personal mixers, allowing you to connect, adapt, and extend the system’s capabilities to your workflow. SQ supports standard digital audio formats: just add a dedicated Dante or Waves audio card to the SQ I/O port to integrate directly with existing systems, provide a digital split between Front of House and monitors, and more.
Flexible multitrack recording
The built-in SQ-Drive system makes it easy to capture a stereo or multitrack show directly to a USB stick or external hard drive. No software required, no audio driver hassles, and no computer to bring to the gig. SQ-Drive is also a smart way to manage background music.
SQ also functions as a 32x32, 96 kHz audio interface for multitrack recording, playback, and virtual soundcheck applications. The interface supports ASIO and Core Audio and includes comprehensive DAW and MIDI control capabilities.
Advanced Automatic Mic Mixer (AMM)
The advanced automatic microphone mixing features in SQ make these consoles a natural choice for conferences, panel discussions, or TV studios. The AMM is fully integrated into the console and adds zero latency, since the signal isn’t handled by an external DSP or plug-in.
RackExtra FX
Allen & Heath has a well-established reputation for creating effect emulations that rival the best plug-ins—without the associated headaches. SQ consoles are equipped with eight stereo FX engines and include the famous RackExtra library featuring legendary reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, and modulation effects. All FX offer dedicated stereo returns, saving input channels.
Featuring a 48-channel, 96 kHz XCVI core for ultra-low latency and phase-coherent mixing, along with exceptional connectivity options, the SQ range remains the benchmark and go-to solution for independent providers, mid-size venues, small tours—anywhere audio quality and interoperability are essential.
The SQ5+ enhances the SQ-5 with increased processing power, expanded control, a larger 9-inch touchscreen with a redesigned GUI, and a streamlined “carbon on graphite” surface update.
All SQ+ models also include 4 RackUltra FX engines with dedicated send and return channels.
