The ’59 Model delivers a warm, open, highly musical tone, with natural dynamics that make it a benchmark for blues and classic rock. It offers great clarity and an expressive response that fully preserves the guitar’s character. In the bridge, the Duncan Custom adds more attack and precision. Originally designed to meet the demands of high-gain rock, it retains a strong, modernized P.A.F. identity. Its ceramic magnet and custom winding produce a tight, defined sound, with controlled lows, present upper mids, and open highs that cut through the mix easily, even under heavy saturation. Yet it remains very musical and versatile, equally effective clean or with distortion. The combination of the Duncan Custom and the ’59 Model creates an ideal balance, capable of covering a wide range of styles, from blues to modern rock, while preserving character and dynamics. This 50th Anniversary Custom Shop edition pays tribute to Seymour Duncan’s heritage by returning to the original specifications: butyrate bobbins, vintage baseplates, maple spacers, and a lightly aged aesthetic.
