Description

The Seymour Duncan SH-3 Stag Mag pickup is a very distinctive humbucker, consisting of two clearly separate single coils with magnetized pole pieces, unlike typical humbuckers that have a magnet bar beneath the poles. This design difference, combined with 4-conductor wiring, enables a split that reveals a true standalone single coil, close to vintage Strat models.

When not split, with its two coils and rows of pole pieces, the Stag Mag delivers a perfect humbucker tone, rich and full, with well-defined highs. It's a very versatile pickup that will pair easily with any fingerboard wood.

For a two-pickup configuration, it is recommended to combine it with an Alnico II Pro or a Pearly Gates in the neck position.

Handmade at the Seymour Duncan workshop in Santa Barbara, California (USA), the Stag Mag is equipped with Alnico 2 magnets, a nickel-silver baseplate, and has been wax-potted to prevent microphonics.
