This allows, for example, a singer to control his or her microphone to attack the front-of-house PA system or stage monitors so that he or she can communicate discreetly with other band members or technical staff. This is especially important for artists who use ear monitors. You can also use the Relay Xo to send the output of a microphone to two channels of the mixing console during a live performance. The first channel can be unprocessed, so that the songs can be sent to the audience in between, while the second channel could be processed with reverb and echo to enhance the vocals. The Relay Xo has one balanced XLR input and two balanced XLR outputs. The audio signal path is completely passive. There are no transformers or electronic buffers inside that could cause distortion or coloration of any kind. Instead, the Relay Xo uses military grade relays with gold contacts to do the switching. The Relay Xo is suitable for both mic and line level signals and can be switched using the switch on the side of the case or remotely via the XLR combo and 6.35mm jack connectors using either the RadialJR1-L (latching) or JR1-M (momentary) footswitch. A 'link' allows multiple Relay Xo's to be used simultaneously.
