We love to collaborate, so we're excited to bring you the first collaboration between Arturia and digital modular synth pioneers Mutable Instruments. Among the multiple modes of the MicroFreak synth engine, you'll be able to select the popular Plaits oscillator with added paraphony.
Now you can enjoy the same otherworldly sounds, modes, and parameter controls as the iconic Eurorack module, but from a powerful standalone hardware synthesizer.
The best of both worlds
Inspired by the revolutionary 12dB Oberheim SEM filter, the MicroFreak's filter can howl or whisper to your liking. The filter is variable state, and can even self-oscillate! You can use it any way you like, whether it's to give a wavetable some edge, or automate the cutoff by modulating it with keyboard pressure or the built-in sequencer.
Wait. Did we mention that MicroFreak has a sequencer? And a mod matrix? Things are about to get seriously interesting....
Taste the spice, roll the dice
Record up to four automations, edit notes by step, or use the innovative Spice and Dice sequencer features to find happy accidents. Add randomness to create original and evolving patterns, rewire and virtually reconfigure the signal chain and controls with the 5x7 modulation matrix.

Isn't it? It's not even really a keyboard. It's a PCB. Super-flat, with no moving parts.
Can it provide lightning fast synth solos? Of course it can. Better than a traditional keyboard, in fact.
Will it let you be expressive? Of course, it's not only pressure sensitive, but it also offers polyphonic-aftertouch. This means that each key can control parameters in a different way depending on what you touch.
You can also use its USB, MIDI and CV outputs to control your DAW instruments and modular synths. This also means you can use MicroFreak as a controller to experiment with polyphonic aftertouch with state-of-the-art software instruments.
