Important note: it is imperative never to connect the RJ-45 HDBaseT ports to a local network, otherwise the extender may be damaged!
For HDBaseT connection, always use unshielded UTP cat.5e/6/6a. If you're using wall sockets, make sure you only use a maximum of 5m of cable between each socket and the HDBaseT device. For medium lengths, a single-strand AWG24 installation cable should be used. If a shielded cable is already in place, it's essential to interrupt the shielding at both ends, using UTP cable or a double RJ45 UTP female.
