As with all Radial Workhorse modular racks, the metal chassis design is flawless and bodes well for increased durability when moving around the studio, as well as providing better protection against stray magnetic fields.To reduce induced noise, the power supply is external and connects using a 5-pin XLR plug. To ensure optimum contact, each module connector board has a double-sided 15-pin EDAC which is 100% compatible with the classic API pinout format. An additional safety feature is built in to ensure that a malfunctioning module does not harm others already connected. And with 1.6 Amps of shared current, the SixPack outperforms all others in its class with an average of over 265 milliamps per slot. The SixPack accommodates even the most power-hungry tube modules. Rear panel connectivity includes six individual XLR inputs/outputs and their parallel TRS jack equivalents. A set of D-Sub 25 connectors allows the SixPack to be easily integrated into a digital audio workstation. Two XLR connectors are mounted on the front panel and allow additional channels to be routed to the D-Sub inputs or inputs 1 and 4 as a more advantageous microphone patch.Additional features include a 'feed' switch that routes one module to the adjacent module directly, a 'link' switch to combine two modules in a stereo configuration. The Omniport is a TRS jack that adds additional functionality depending on the scope of the module.The SixPack can be laid flat on your work surface or carried into a live room with its side handle.
